Seafront
skating ban reinforced in Burnham-On-Sea
A
skating ban along Burnham seafront is to be reinforced with the
introduction of new signs reminding youngsters that they are breaking
local byelaws.
Town councillors have decided to proceed with the purchase of
a new sign following complaints from nearby residents about noise.
Town
clerk Eileen Shaw told Burnham-On-Sea.com a new sign would be
installed on The Esplanade near St Andrew's Church, pictured here.
"Those
would break the byelaws are risking fines, although prosecution
would be used as a last resort," she added.
If
successful, further signs may be introduced along other sections
of the sefront in the future.
