A big clean-up operation was underway on Burnham-On-Sea beach on Saturday in time for the Easter holiday period.

Several parts of the beach have been strewn with debris following the recent storms and high tides.

So two bulldozers were drafted in by the district council – as pictured – to mount a tidy-up and ensure the beach is ready for the annual influx of visitors.

Since nearby Maddocks Slade is used for emergency access onto the beach, Saturday’s work was also aimed at keeping it fully accessible.
