Thick fog hampers visibility as Burnham pedestrian is injured in accident

Carnival traffic coming into Burnham was being held up on Monday evening (November 6th) after an accident in thick fog along the Berrow Road, pictured here.

A man was taken to hospital with back injuries after being struck by a vehicle near the Warren Guest House at 5.30pm.

An eyewitness told Burnham-On-Sea.com that a man had been lifted into a waiting ambulance on a spinal board, although police said his injuries were not believed to be serious.

Paramedics and police from Burnham-On-Sea were quickly on the scene. Visibility in the area was very poor due to thick fog.

Police expected traffic to be flowing again by 6.20pm; thereby reducing any major hold-ups for carnival traffic coming into the town from Berrow.
