Burnham
resident invited to take part in Queen's birthday celebrations
A
Burnham-On-Sea resident who will be celebrating her 80th birthday
on the same day as the Queen has been invited to a special tea
party being hosted by the Lord Lieutenant of Somerset to celebrate
the occasion.
Mrs
Beryl North of Pembroke Close (pictured) will be among eight residents
from across Somerset going to Lady Gass home on Wednesday
April 19th.
Mrs
North told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "I'm very pleased and honoured
to share the same birthday as the Queen."
"I
understand I was born just 20 minutes before her! I'm looking
forwards to going along to the event with my husband."
Residents
who will be 80 years of age on April 21st were asked to send in
their names for selection to attend a luncheon reception with
The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace on 19th April.
As
a result of a ballot held by the Lord Lieutenant, two successful
candidates were named as Mr George Bell of Wellington and Mrs
Edith Grobosz of Southdown, Bathwere chosen. But to celebrate
their special day, those not attending the luncheon have been
invited to join Lady Gass for tea.
Lady
Gass said: "This is a very special part of the celebrations
of the Queens 80th birthday and everything she has done
for this country. I am glad to be able to have a local event for
those who share her birthday."
