Curtain Call theatrical group performs
Burnham-On-Sea summer show
Members
of Burnham-On-Sea theatrical group Curtain Call performed an animal-themed
production in front of an appreciative audience in the town's
Princess Hall on Saturday night (July 29th).
The
group's annual summer production, called 'An Evening of Song and
Dance', raised money for East Huntspill-based Secret World Wildlife
Centre - and each of the 28 songs had an animal theme.
"We've
admired the work that Secret World do for some time," said
Principal Patricia Ham. "They do a super job."
"Choosing
them has also given us a great theme for the evening, with each
performance having an animal theme or link."
"We
had some obvious numbers, such as 'Ugly Bug Ball' and 'Bright
Eyes', mixed in with some less obvious choices, such as hits by
The Eagles and Seal, so there was something to suit all musical
tastes!"
The
charity extravaganza was filled with memorable songs and dances.
First up was Circle of Life from the Lion King, performed by Curtain
Call's Senior Musical Theatre Group, junior group, and both sets
of dancers.
Those
taking part - all pictured at the top of this page - included
Lillie Andrews, Laura Brown, Hope Elliott, Dean-William Emery,
Jemma Wendy Hazell, Edward Kimmins-Tonkin, Jemma Louise Morgan,
Gabby Giovanni, Ben Hazell and Danielle Keirle.
Also
taking part were Lois Sankey, Lydia Vera Williams, Natalie Babajee,
Terri Davies, Tom Kyffin, Geoffrey Nash, David Neville, Jane Quick,
Alex Turco, Annabel Criddle, Bethany Criddle, Evelyn Andrews,
Melissa Alice Chandler, Ellen Sturdy and Rebecca Webb.
The
creative team behind the performance were Patricia Ham, Victoria
Roberts and Amanda Graham. Sound was by Michael Marshall, stage
lighting by Brian Tagg assisted by Gerald Ham, and costumes by
Patricia Ham assisted by Cath and Victoria Roberts and Amanda
Graham.
The
official sponsors of the show were R. Millard and Son of Springfield
Road, Highbridge.
"Their
support has been fantastic," said Patricia. "I'm also
overwhelmed by the support of local traders who have again offered
raffle prizes - Material Needs and Kyffins to name but a few."
