Police are appealing for information after arsonists started a fire which destroyed a caravan, pictured above, in Highbridge on Wednesday night (April 12th).

The caravan was completely destroyed in the blazeA Burnham-On-Sea fire crew rushed to an area behind the Somerfield supermarket (formerly Kwik Save) at 10:04pm amid reports that a derelict caravan near the railway line was in flames.

A Somerset Fire Brigade spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We believe the blaze was deliberately started. Fortunately, it was put out quickly by our crew.”

One fire engine from Burnham attended the incident. The caravan was completely destroyed in the fire, as pictured above.

Police tape went up around the scene, and officers are appealing to anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is available 24 hours a day Monday to Friday and 4.00pm to 8.00am at weekends.
