Burnham-On-Sea fire fighters were called to Burnham Holiday Village in the early hours of Sunday morning after a blaze in a large storage area at the site.

A Somerset Fire and Rescue spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com that crews from Burnham and Bridgwater had been called out after flames were spotted at a storage workshop at 2.57am.

The crews quickly tackled the blaze, and brought it under control with two hose reel jets.

The spokesman said that damage had been sustained to the store, and added that its contents had been destroyed. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
