Burnham-On-Sea fire crews tackle Boxing Day blaze at Rooksbridge

Thousands of pounds of damage was caused to a car and garage during a fire at Rooksbridge on Boxing Day evening.

Firefighters from Burnham-On-Sea gained entry to a domestic garage alongside a detached property in the village after the blaze broke out at 8.02pm.

Fire crews from Burnham and Cheddar extinguised the flames using two hose reel jets and a water carrier from Bridgwater.

A fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The cause of the fire was an electrical fault from a car within the garage. Damage was caused to both the vehicle and garage."
