A TV crew from UK Gold will be filming at Sanders Garden World, near Burnham-On-Sea, on Wednesday (December 6) for the re-launch of the popular TV show Jim’ll Fix It, which will be back on air in the spring.

The crew will be recording inside the Circus Americano big top for a new six-part series entitled Jim’ll Fix It: Then and Now.

The programme, which was broadcast from the 1970s for more than 20 years and was hosted by Sir Jimmy Savile, will feature children from the original shows who are now adults.

The garden centre’s Peter Burks said: “We are delighted that UK Gold has chosen to visit us. They will be filming during the 2pm and 7.30pm performances on Wednesday and I would like to invite anyone who wishes to be in the audience to contact our ticket line. Anyone who attends stands a very good chance of being part of the crowd scenes.”

UK TV GoldKids TV presenter Kirsten O’Brien, who has appeared on CBBC with Otis The Aardvark, will be presenting the programme, which focuses on former Jim’ll Fix It star Zoe Phillips.

Zoe, now 40, participated in one of the original shows in 1979 after writing to Jim to ask him to fulfil her dream to perform a trapeze act in a circus.

She will be revisiting her childhood experience and will perform alongside members of Circus Americano. The original circus she appeared with when she was a 12-year-old has now closed down.

The news series of Jim’ll Fix It: Then and Now will feature former classic ‘fixes’ as well as making new dreams come true with the help of celebrity guests.
