Burnham
fashion student Matt wins through to final five on TV show
Burnham-On-Sea
fashion student Matt Bowkett sailed through to the next round
of Sky One's reality TV show Project Catwalk this week.
After
several nervous episodes where it looked as though the 21-year-old
from Stoddens Road could be eliminated from the programme, he
won this week's episode to go through to the last five contestants.
Tasked
with designing a new uniform for staff at London's Savoy Hotel,
Matt and the other competitors had 18 hours to make an outfit.
Each
designer had the same budget, the same fabric and the same time.
The knives were out - and several contestants said Matt should
have been booted off the programme by now.
But
Matt - who was back in Burnham-On-Sea this week and spotted in
the Reed's Arms pub with friends - hit back on the programme,
saying: "I want to prove them all wrong."
And
he certainly did that when his design was praised by judges and
Savoy staff.
Matt
won this week's episode and his uniform will now become the Savoy's
official new clothing. "I'm
speechless... wow!" was all he could mutter after a rollercoaster
few weeks.
Matt
goes through to the next episode of the TV series next Thursday
when he'll be among the final five contestants.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
exclusively reported in January how Matt is bidding for fashion
stardom by appearing as a contestant on the TV series.
Project
Catwalk gives young fashion designers the chance of a lifetime
to have their collection shown at this year's London Fashion Week.
With
£20,000 and a feature in Elle magazine up for grabs,
the competition is intense.
Project
Catwalk airs on Sky One at 8pm every Thursday. Burnham-On-Sea.com
is following Matt's progress during the series.
