Proposal
for 12 new homes gets thumbs-up from Burnham town planners

Plans to build 12 new homes on a patch of derelict land near Burnham-On-Sea
have this week been given the thumbs-up by town planners.
The
proposal for a dozen new properties on land bordering Naish Road
and 181 Berrow Road - pictured above - were backed by Burnham
Town Council's planning committee with two provisos.
Town
clerk Eileen Shaw told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Because this
request is just at outline application stage, it is unclear whether
the properties would be bungalows or houses. We would prefer bungalows,
which would be more in keeping with other homes along Naish Road."
"Also,
three of the 12 dwellings are shown on the plans as having driveways
onto Berrow Road. The rest are shown with access onto Naish Road.
We would prefer to see all access via Naish Road because Berrow
Road is so busy."
The
proposal now goes to Sedgemoor District Council for its planners
to examine in more depth.
