Free operatic music concert set to be held in Burnham-On-Sea

-

A free operatic music concert is set to take place at a Burnham-On-Sea garden centre during August.

Professional operatic tenor singer and songwriter Tim Pitman, 36, from Radstock will be performing at Sanders Garden World on Wednesday August 23rd from 2pm until 4pm.

Tim’s Manager, Victor Spark said: “Tim will be performing a wide variety of songs during the concert ranging from classic pop songs from the 1950s and 1960s through to classical Aria’s made famous by world renown tenors such as Enrico Caruso, Mario Lanza, Luciano Paverotti, Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo and Andrea Bocelli.”

“He has a superb voice and is a real talent. I would highly recommend that people from the area take up this opportunity to see a great singer performing both classical and well-known songs for free on a summer afternoon at the garden centre’s Village Square area.”

During the event, Tim, who performed at the Glastonbury Extravaganza with the Royal Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra last year after being personally invited by Michael Eavis, will also be singing a tribute to Roy Orbinson and a medley of Sam Cooke hits.

Victor added: “Tim was the first ever singer and songwriter to be awarded a grant from The Prince’s Trust in 1993, after performing in front of Prince Charles. The money he was given then allowed him to buy equipment to turn professional. Since then he has performed in more than 2,500 shows and concerts.”

Tim and his management team have recently been appointed as Official Ambassadors for the Prince’s Trust in the South West. Representatives from the organisation will be on hand during the concert to answer questions about the work and aims of The Prince’s Trust.
