Rebels star 'recovering well' after surgery to broken wrist
One
of the leading members of the Burnham-On-Sea's Somerset Rebels
speedway team, Pavel Ondrasik, is recovering well after undergoing
surgery on Wednesday following an accident in which he broke his
wrist.
The
Czech star had the operation in a Prague hospital near his home,
and is now recuperating well following Saturday's
accident.
While
it is still too early to say how long Ondrasik will be away from
the team, estimates continue to point to at least a month.
"Losing
Pavel is an obvious blow to the team," Rebels co-promoter
Jo Lawson told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
"We
will have a team talk on Friday to discuss the situation and assess
the best way forward with regards to whether we carry through
with Rider Replacement facility, or sign someone as a short term
replacement for Pavel."
"The
problem with Rider Replacement for what could be at least a month
is the extra pressure it puts upon the rest of the team, but then
again, there are not that many riders available with an average
comparable to Pavel's, which gives us a limited choice. It is
not going to an easy decision to make."
