Children's
play centre in Burnham could be turned into restaurant
An
indoor children's play centre in Burnham-On-Sea could soon be
turned into a new take-away and restaurant.
Mervin
Popham, the owner of the Play Centre in Pier Street, pictured,
this week submitted an application to change the premises' use.
He
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We've been here for six years and
are possibly looking to move on."
"We're
investigating various alternative uses for the building - one
of which is changing the premises into a take-away and restuarant."
The
application is scheduled to be discussed by town planners during
the next few weeks.
The
building itself has a long history behind it, having previously
been used as a Scout Hall and as the town's lifeboat
station during the 1800s.
