Accident
at Burnham
M5
motorway junction causes long tailbacks
Traffic
was queued for more than five miles along the M5 motorway on Monday
(August 21st) after a serious accident at the Burnham-On-Sea junction.
Police
and paramedics rushed to the southbound sliproad at 6.10am after
a car flipped over onto its roof after colliding with the central
reservation.
A
police spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The driver of
the vehicle, a male, was taken to Weston General Hospital with
serious, but not life-threatening, injuries."
Debris
was strewn across several lanes of the motorway, leaving police
to close two for over an hour.
"It
caused a lot of problems for motorists during the busy rush hour
period," added the spokeswoman.
