Burnham-On-Sea police appeal for witnesses after serious accident

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious crash near Burnham-On-Sea that left five people needing hospital treatment.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a West Huntspill crashThe accident at West Huntspill occurred last Thursday (August 17th) at 8.35pm on the main A38 road.

Force spokeswoman Jenny Bigwood told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "A blue Peugeot 306 collided with a house wall."

"The driver - a 20 year-old female - was taken to Weston General Hospital with injuries that were serious, but not life-threatening."

"Three passengers were taken to Musgrove Hospital in Taunton with minor injuries, and an 85-year-old woman householder was also taken to Musgrove for treatment to head injuries after being struck by a brick."

"The Peugeot was believed to be travelling to Highbridge, and a second vehicle may have also been involved."

"Police are keen to speak to anyone who saw the accident."
