National
Poop Scoop Week events to be held in Burnham-On-Sea
Free
poop scoop bags and educational leaflets will be handed out to
Burnham-On-Sea dog owners when National Poop Scoop Week is held
over the next few days.
Sedgemoor
District Council is
joining forces with the Dog's Trust, the UK's largest dog charity,
to mark the event, which runs from June 26th to July 2nd.
In
Burnham and Highbridge, two
dog chipping sessions will also be held and the
council will be encouraging dog owners to scoop up their pets'
waste.
"Cleaning
up after your dog is simple and is the only way of ensuring a
summer free from the nuisance of dog mess," said a council
spokeswoman.
"Dispose
of your bag in a 'Poop' bin. Contrary to popular belief, waste
can also be put into a public litter bin if a specific dog waste
bin is not provided."
