A knitted bear helped its creator to scoop one of the top awards at Burnham-On-Sea’s annual Ritz Club Produce and Craft Show on Saturday (September 9th).

Jenny Taylor – who is pictured here with show organiser Ruth Theobold – said she was “thrilled to bits” to have won the trophy for the show’s best craft entries.

Her entry of a knitted bear with a gardening theme was one of more than 150 items on display at the fourth annual show, held in Burnham’s Ritz Club.

Joan White was also celebrating after winning the trophy for the best produce categories entries. And local photographer Chris Cassin won the photography trophy after his snaps attracted the eyes of local judges, who included Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Eric Gill.

Over 150 entries were on show at the eventWhile the number of entries was down on last year, organiser Ruth Theobold said the show had still been another success.

“The number of entries down, but the overall quality of entries was very high again this year,” she told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “We’ve also had a good number of visitors throughout the day.”

She thanked those who had supported the show and added that the group’s next event would be its 2006 Christmas Craft and Produce Fayre at the Ritz Social Club on November 18th.
