Burnham-On-Sea Rotary Club welcomes its new President

The Rotary Club's George Moon handed over the chain of office to incoming President, Mike Young

Burnham-On-Sea Rotary Club members welcomed their new President for the year ahead at meeting on Thursday evening (June 29th).

George Moon handed over the chain of office to incoming President, Mike Young, who is a well-known face about Burnham for his work as Chairman of the town's Carnival Committee.

Mr Moon presented £500 to the Highbridge and Burnham branch of St John AmbulanceMike spoke about making sure that the Rotary Club remembers its beginnings as a body of people dedicated to service in the community and the world at large.

During the meeting, held at the Battleborough Grange, the retiring President handed over one final cheque to a local charity.

Mr Moon presented £500 to the Highbridge and Burnham branch of St John Ambulance.

Divisional Superintendent Keith Gough and Claire Gough, pictured above, accepted the money on behalf of their group, which followed a successful collection at Sanders Garden World in Brent Knoll.
