Photo review: Burnham-On-Sea's 2006 Seaside
Fun Day attracts crowds

Large
crowds of families flocked to Burnham-On-Sea on Friday (August
4th) when the town held its fourth annual Seaside Fun Day.
Alongside
market stalls and games along The Esplanade, there were also a
host of other activities, including a popular sandcastle building
competition, taking place.
Entertainment
was provided this year by Chucklefoot and Stompie, Punch &
Judy and Fred Merrick with his habd barrel organ.
Burnham
and Highbridge Brass Band also performed a lunchtime concert in
front of the Bay View Café - again attracting large crowds.
Visitors
were also able to see some of the animals from local animal rescue
centre, The Acorn Project; wonder at the creatures lurking in
Wookey Hole Caves; and meet Animal Farms new mascot.
Burnham
Youth Town Council members were also fundraising for the BABE
Appeal during the day, with several members dressed as pigs!
The
winners at the event were Fiona Leggett (name the husky competition),
Abi Thompson (Fun Day Quiz) and Mrs April Crank (Word Search).
