Burnham-On-Sea’s Seaside Fun Day set to be held on August 4th

Burnham-On-Sea will hold its fourth annual Seaside Fun Day on the town’s beach on Friday 4th August.

Alongside market stalls and games along The Esplanade, there will also be a host of other activities, such as a sandcastle building competition, taking place.

There will also be a Quiz and a word search competition run by Burnham Tourist Information Centre, which will also host a Beach Safety display.

Entertainment will be provided this year by Chucklefoot and Friend, Punch & Judy and Fred with his barrel hand organ.

Burnham and Highbridge Brass Band will also perform a lunchtime concert in front of the Bay View Café from noon to 2.00pm.

Punch and JudyYou can also see some of the animals from local animal rescue centre, The Acorn Project, wonder at the creatures from Wookey Hole Caves and meet Animal Farm’s new mascot.

“The Sandman will again be leading the popular sandcastle building competition,” said a spokesman. “Open to individuals, family groups and teams of up to five people, we are recommending that people register early and bag a place, as high tide takes place in early afternoon and space on the beach will be at a premium. Prizes will be given for First Place, the Most Creative and Best Effort.”

Burnham Youth Town Council members will also be fundraising for the BABE Appeal during the day, with several dressed as pigs!

The event will be held throughout the day, from 11am to 5pm on Burnham Seafront. All activities are free.
