More than 150 local business owners and tourism bosses gathered in Brean on Tuesday night to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Sedgemoor Tourism Association.

Bob Nicholson, Chairman of the group, was presented with a framed certificate and photo (pictured) to mark his 20th year in the job.

And certificates were also handed to over 30 of the group’s members who have helped the organisation boost the number of visitors who flock to Burnham, Brean and Berrow each summer.

Representatives from the county, district and town councils were in attendance, alongside dozens of local business owners.

They enjoyed a carvery dinner, fundraising auction and entertainment from a live band.

Mr Nicholson looked back at over the last 20 years, thanked his committee members and paid tribute to Richard and Bridget House, owners of Brean Lesiure Park, for their “unwavering” support over the years.

The event came a week after Sedgemoor Tourism Association launched its new-look Web site, as reported here.
