New
speed warning sign to help crack down on Marine Drive speeding

Concern
about the speed of vehicles using Marine Drive in Burnham-On-Sea
(pictured above) will lead to a new mobile speed warning sign
being introduced.
Somerset
County Council says it will provide the sign - similar to the
one pictured here - for Burnham later in the summer.
And
this week, councillors on the Town Improvements Committee discussed
several locations for the sign - with Love Lane, The Esplanade,
the A38 near the Bristol Bridge Inn, and Marine Drive being near
the top of the shortlist.
But
it was decided that the problems along Marine Drive make its need
the greatest, and the sign will be sighted in the area around
the entrance to the Holiday Village, facing towards traffic leaving
the town. No
date has yet been set for its introduction.
