Lucky
escape for Burnham motorist as car skids off road into ditch
A
Burnham-On-Sea motorist had a lucky escape when his car skidded
off a road and into a ditch, making it the third accident at the
same spot in just a year.
Police
tape still marked the spot on Monday, pictured, where a Peugeot
306 ended up on its side along Stoddens Lane after the accident
at 6pm on Friday.
"Fortunately,
the motorist escaped from the car uninjured and just complained
off having a minor back ache," police spokesman Darren Bane
told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The
road was not closed during the accident, but officers diverted
traffic around the scene. The damaged vehicle was pulled out of
the ditch by a recovery team just after 8pm.
It
is the third accident at the same blackspot in the last year and
is certain to prompt calls for the introduction of better road
barriers and safety improvements.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
reported on an identical accident at the bend last December
and another in June, pictured
here, when a lady and young boy scrambled out of their car.
