Burnham
pub's street party raises more than £1,200 for local groups
More
than £1,200 was raised for charity during a Burnham-On-Sea
pub's annual street party on Sunday evening (August 27th).
The
Somerset and Dorset's annual street party attracted large crowds
of revelers to the southern end of the High Street where music
from a Brian Adams tribute group boomed out across the town.
The
High Street was closed for the evening to allow a huge lorry to
move into position and become the stage. The seven-hour event
also featured a barbecue, raffle, stalls and tombola.
Pete
Rodden, the pub's Bar Manager, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "It
was a very well attended event. We were extremely busy during
the evening. Everyone had a great time and really enjoyed it."
Organiser
Ali Sutton added: "We're all delighted with the final sum.
A huge £1,202.15 was raised for our Local Emergency Services
group, which allocates money to local good causes."
