New £110,000 play area coming to Highbridge's Apex Park?

A £110,000 play area could be introduced at Highbridge's Apex Park if money is earmarked for the project by Sedgemoor District Council later this week.

The council's Executive committee is to meet on Wednesday (August 1st) to discuss whether to proceed with several proposals within the Sedgemoor Play Strategy for 2007-2011.

This includes unlocking £230,000 over three years from the Big Lottery Fund for a new kids' playground at Apex Park and a seperate service running play events across Sedgemoor.

A Sedgemoor spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The Apex Park scheme would refurbish the existing children's area and enhance the grounds around it."

"Children would be involved in its design and a 900-letter mail shot to families living near Apex Park and local schools has already begun."
