Local
artists' work goes on display at Burnham
Community
Centre
Colourful
paintings and photos from a trio of local artists have gone on
display at an exhibition in Burnham-On-Sea this week.
The work of Bev Lewis, Chris Abbott and Jane Smith (pictured)
has been inspired by scenes in the Burnham area and is on display
in Burnham Community Centre, Berrow Road, from Thursday (June
21st) until Saturday afternoon (June 23rd).
Bev
is well known for her animal and pet portraits and has a passion
for painting and drawing. She has won a number of awards for her
coloured pencil drawings, and also uses water colours, pastels
and acrylics. She has a wide range of subjects in the exhibition
including local landscapes.
Jane
has been inspired by the wonderful sunsets we see in Burnham and
loves to paint big open skies. She began painting using watercolours
and has an impressive collection including landscapes and floral
art.
Chris
has been a photographer for more than 25 years and has a keen
eye for capturing different perspectives on familiar landmarks.
He works with a digital camera and has recently won an award for
one of his top photos.
There's
no charge for entry into the exhibition to view the artwork. The
paintings and photographs are available to buy as well as cards
and prints.
