Open top bus tour around
Burnham-On-Sea for victorious football team!
A
local football team celebrated the successful end of their season
with an open top bus tour around Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday evening
(May 19th).
Berrow
Under Nines won the North Somerset Mini League and also the League
Cup in their first ever competitive season of football.
Delighted
team manager Jon Harding told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "It's been
a great season. They've done so well and really deserve this tour
around town."
With
the young players cheering from the top deck, holding their trophies,
the bus started at the Frank Foley Parkway before heading through
town and along Burnham seafront.
Over
the course of the season, the team played 34 games and won 29,
drew four and lost just one. They scored 147 goals and conceded
just 19.
"After
playing together over the past two years, the team has developed
into a very strong squad with a great sense of team spirit and
commitment," added Mr Harding.
Organisers
thanked Cheddar Caves for providing the bus for the evening, plus
the team's sponsors, R & J Plumbing & Heating Engineers
and Autodent.
After
Saturday's tour, the team went on to the Farmer's Tavern at Brean
for Berrow Boys' annual Presentation Night.
