Trapped
4x4 vehicle pulled free after getting stranded on Brean Beach

A
stranded 4x4 vehicle was pulled from the sea by rescuers after
it became stuck in mud on Brean Beach, near Burnham-On-Sea, on
Friday afternoon (May 25th).
The
wheels of the Nissan Terrano became stuck at 2.45pm after its
owners drove to the water's edge to try and retrieve a jet ski.
Eyewitness
Jan Nelson told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The incoming tide washed
away the sand from around the wheels of the vehicle, leaving it
stuck on its axle. It couldn't be moved, but Weston Recovery was
quickly on the scene to pull it free."
The
vehicle was partially submerged by the incoming tide, but the
speedy work of Weston Recovery meant the car is unlikely to have
been too greatly damaged. Two vehicles were lost in the mud at
Brean and Berrow last year.
A
crowd of holidaymakers watched the recovery process as the trapped
vehicle was pulled free.
Unplugging
the vehicle from the mud took the rescuers several minutes.
