fire crews tackle house blaze in Brent Knoll

Two
people were treated for smoke inhalation following a serious blaze
at a property in Brent Knoll on Wednesday evening (October 31st).
Fire
crews from Burnham, Weston, Bridgwater and Street rushed to Station
Road in Brent Knoll after flames ripped through the ground floor
of the property pictured here.
Two
fire appliances from Burnham, two from Weston, a water carrier
from Bridgwater and a command support unit from Street were sent
to the scene.
Firefighters
equipped with four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets
brought the blaze under control.
An
ambulance spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "A lady in her
70s was treated for smoke inhalation, and a second lady in her
20s was treated for both shock and smoke inhalation."
The
spokesman added that both casualties had been treated at the scene
by paramedics and had not required hospital treatment.
Station
Road in Brent Knoll was closed by police during the incident,
with motorists facing lengthy diversions around the scene. Click
