Big
crowds expected for tonight's 2007 Burnham-On-Sea Carnival

Large
crowds of up to 35,000 people are expected to line Burnham-On-Sea's
streets on Monday evening (November 12th) to watch the town's
colourful annual carnival.
Spectators
are being advised to wrap up tight, with weather forecasters predicting
temperatures around three degrees centigrade at the start of the
parade at 7.30pm. There is also a 60% chance of rain arriving
at around the time the parade finishes at 10pm.
Dozens
of carnival floats arrived along Burnham-On-Sea's Queen's Drive
during the early hours of Sunday (November 11th) after taking
part in Saturday's North Petherton Carnival, as pictured here,
and many local residents got a sneak peak at some of the 103 entries
which will take part in Monday's parade.
It
will be a special night for Kayley Elton, 15, who was chosen
in September to lead this year's parade as its Carnival Queen.
The
1st Princess will be Lauren Wainwright, 12, from Burnham, and
the 2nd Princess will be Daisy-May Kilduff, 7, from Burnham -
all of whom are pictured below.
Burnham's
Hillview Carnival Club is among the local entrants hoping to impress
the
60 judges and win one of the 40 prizes up for grabs. They have
already enjoyed success
at the first two events on the carnival circuit and have high
hopes of doing well in their home town.
There
will be 80 charity collectors along the route of the parade, who
will be urging the crowds to dig deep to try and beat the amount
raised for local worthy causes last year.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
will have full results and photo coverage once the parade ends
and don't forget to add your opinions about your favourite entries
in Burnham's discussion
forums.
