Festive fundraisers light up their Burnham homes for local causes

-

A Burnham-On-Sea man has this week lit up his home with a huge display of over 20,000 Christmas lights!

Mike Perrin and wife Denise of Wilde Close have decorated their home to raise funds for St Margaret’s Hospice every year for the last seven years and have made a special effort this year to make show better than ever.

His impressive display of illuminations, which covers the whole of his garden and the front of his house, was switched on in front of a crowd of 100 onlookers – including Mr and Mrs Santa Claus! – at the weekend.

Mike told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I love Christmas and putting on a show for the community. It’s also great to raise money for such a special cause.”

Julie Draper from St Margaret’s Hospice (pictured above with the couple) said: “We are so grateful to both Mike and Denise for all their hard work over the years.”

Meanwhile, a colourful display of Christmas lights has been switched on by Damon and Louise Bird at their home in Cornmoor Crescent, East Huntspill. They have already raised over £480 towards tackling Parkinsons Disease in just the first three days of their display.

The lights will be on until early January and donations are welcome.
