Child injured in Highbridge pedestrian crossing accident

A child was taken to hospital with leg injuries after a car collided with the youngster and his mother as they walked over a Highbridge pedestrian crossing on Tuesday afternoon (November 27th).

Paramedics and police were called to Church Street at 4pm, as pictured here, after a car collided with the pair as they crossed at the beginning of the busy rush hour.

Police spokeswoman Mellissa Cullum told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The car hit a mother and child as they crossed Church Street at a pedestrian crossing."

"The ambulance service attended and a child was taken to Musgrove Hospital in Taunton with leg injuries."
