Highly regarded singer-songwriter comes to Burnham’s Ritz Acoustic Club

-

A highly-regarded singer-songwriter is set to perform in Burnham-On-Sea’s Ritz Acousitic Club later this month.

Tickets have gone on sale for the event, on Thursday January 18th, when the club will play host to south-west singer-songwriter Diana Johnstone.

Organiser Dom Wills said: “In her teens Diana started out at Mitchell’s famous Folk Cottage, playing alongside the likes of Ralph McTell, Mike Silver and Clive Palmer of The Incredible String Band.”

“Her solo career was put on hold when she met and married musician Davey Johnstone who played guitar for Elton John at the peak of his Seventies success, the couple travelling the world and meeting such celebrities as Groucho Marx, Stevie Wonder and John Lennon.”

“Now, Diana, having had a track featured on Willy Russell’s Daughters Of Albion TV show, is relaunching her career with the EP Learning To Walk and audiences are loving her haunting, vulnerable yet powerful songs.”

Doors open at 8pm and tickets cost £3 for members or £3.50 for non-members (including a buffet) from GC Music on 01278-794-434 or on the door.
