Pooches
go on parade as dog show gives Burnham club a boost

Dozens
of Burnham-On-Sea pooches stepped into the spotlight on Sunday
(July 29th) when a popular annual dog show was held in the town.
Crowds
of pet owners and spectators attended the event in the town's
Manor Gardens, which was held to raise funds for Burnham-On-Sea's
Hillview Juvenile Carnival Club.
The
event is expected to have pulled in several hundred pounds towards
buying the club a new tractor to pull its float around this year's
carnival circuit.
Several
fair rides were laid on alongside tombolas, face painting, ice
creams and majorettes. Even the sun put in a long-overdue appearance!
The
club's Tina Marshall told Burnham-On-Sea.com it had been a excellent
day: "We had several hundred people throughout the afternoon
and were very pleased with the weather, particularly because it
was far better than originally forecasted. It beat everyone's
expectatons."
