Cyclist dies after collision on Burnham-On-Sea roundabout

A cyclist who was injured in a collision at the Edithmead roundabout near Burnham-On-Sea earlier this month has died, police announced on Monday.

The 66-year-old man from Winscombe tragically died at Frenchay Hospital on Sunday.

Burnham-On-Sea.com reported earlier this month how a cyclist had been rushed to Frenchay hospital with 'life-changing injuries' following a serious incident at the roundabout, pictured, at 10.40am on May 10th.

A silver-coloured Citroen Picasso collided with a cyclist on the approach to the roundabout.

An ambulance was called and the casualty was put into a neck injury brace and then moved to Weston General Hospital before being later transferred to Frenchay, where he has been ever since.

Police spokesman Wayne Baker told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Police would like to hear from anyone who was travelling in the area at the time of the collision and may be able to help with enquiries. They should contact our Road Collision team on 0845 456 7000."
