Deadline nears for Burnham-On-Sea town council election candidates

Burnham-On-Sea Methodist Church, which was used as a polling station at a recent electionBudding local politicians in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge have just a few days left to put their names forward for this year's district and town council elections.

Local residents can put their names forward for positions on the district and town councils until 12 noon prompt on April 4th.

The list of all those vying for the council seats will then be announced on April 10th.

And polling day will take place on May 3rd, when registered voters will get a chance to cast their votes at polling stations across the town - including Burnham's Methodist Church, pictured above.

County Council seats in Burnham will not be contested this year. The next county elections are due in May 2009.
