Power upgrade for over 200
Highbridge homes
Over
200 homes in Highbridge were powered from this temporary electricity
generator while major work on the town's mains supply was carried
out on Wednesday (October 24th).
Western
Power Distribution switched off the mains supply to hundreds of
homes and firms in the Market Street area as the work to upgrade
Highbridge's electricity network was carried out.
Irene
Evans, spokeswoman for Western Power Distribution, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"A total of 247 homes were automatically switched over to
a special generator which was located near the Somerfield supermarket."
"The
voltage was unaffacted and the supply was never turned off, so
customers shouldn't have seen any difference at all."
