Taunton rock band to perform at Morland Community Hall, Highbridge
Top
Taunton rock band Evolution will be performing a night of rock
music at Morland Community Hall, Highbridge in January.
Aimed
at local youngsters aged under 17, the event is being organised
by local group Burnham Rock and aims to highlight just some of
the possible uses of the closure-threatened hall and to give the
opportunity to young local rock musicians to see and hear live
music of a standard that is only usually available on licensed
premises.
Adrian Miles, vocalist of the band, said: "Although we are
all established musicians in our twenties, our lead guitarist,
at just thirteen, is certainly one of the youngest professional
musicians in the West of England and has just made a major songwriting
contribution to our latest album."
"Having
such a gifted young artist in our own band, we are always willing
to play gigs that may inspire other talented young people to follow
their dreams as did Alex The Axe.
Doors open at 6:45pm on Saturday January 5th and a soft drinks
bar will be available until 10:30pm. Tickets are £2.00 on
the door with proceeds going to the Highbridge Stroke Club and
Morland Youth Club.
Burnham Rock is also offering the opportunity of a guest slot
or possibly full support to suitable young local bands. Contact
Burnham Rock on 01278 792334 for details.
