Burnham fire crew tackles blaze at Highbridge car park

This was the scene in a Highbridge car park on Tuesday evening (July 24th) when vandals set fire to a set of large recycling waste bins.

A team of Burnham-On-Sea firefighters was called to the Bank Street Car Park in the centre of town at 6.30pm.

They found several recycling bins alight, with smoke pouring from them, as pictured here.

Burnham Fire Officer Ian Hazelton told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The crew extinguished the blaze with a single hose reel jet and dampened it down to make it safe."
