Fire crews to small kitchen blaze in Burnham-On-Sea

Fire crews rushed to a property in Burnham on Thursday morning (December 27th) after fears that a kitchen was on fire.

Two fire engines from Burnham and Bridgwater were sent to Brunels Way after a fire broke out within a microwave oven.

"On arrival it was found that the fire was out, having been caused by food being left unattended in the oven," a fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

"There was slight damage to the oven seal. The property did have a smoke detector, but it did not operate, due to having no battery."
