Burnham-On-Sea fire crews tackle house blaze in town

Burnham-On-Sea fire crews extinguished a house blaze in the town on Sunday morning (June 24th).

The fire service was alerted to reports of smoke emerging from a property in Highbridge Road at 8.57am.

Two fire engines from Burnham were quickly sent to the scene.

"On arrival, our crews used one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire in the smoke-logged building," station officer Ian Hazelton told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

"The cause was found to be an electrical fault in an airing cupboard. Damage was sustained to the airing cupboard and there was smoke damage to the rest of the property."

Crews ventilated the property using a positive pressure ventilation fan.
