fire crews tackle house blaze in town
Burnham-On-Sea
fire crews extinguished a house blaze in the town on Sunday morning
(June 24th).
The
fire service was alerted to reports of smoke emerging from a property
in Highbridge Road at 8.57am.
Two
fire engines from Burnham were quickly sent to the scene.
"On
arrival, our crews used one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus
to extinguish the fire in the smoke-logged building," station
officer Ian Hazelton told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
"The
cause was found to be an electrical fault in an airing cupboard.
Damage was sustained to the airing cupboard and there was smoke
damage to the rest of the property."
Crews
ventilated the property using a positive pressure ventilation
fan.
