Generous Burnham-On-Sea shoppers dig deep for fire services fund

Collection tins were rattling along Burnham High Street on Saturday (December 22nd) as firefighters in the town raised funds for needy colleagues.

Festive shoppers dug deep for the Fire Services Benevolent Fund, which helps serving and retired personnel with sheltered accommodation, recuperative facilities, therapy and financial support.

Burnham Fire Station Manager Ian Hazelton told Burnham-On-Sea.com the crew had been "delighted" with the support they had received. "Everyone in Burnham has been very supportive and given generously. A big thank you goes to all those who've helped," he said.
