Burnham police probe 'suspicious' vehicle blaze at Mark

Burnham-On-Sea police are investigating a suspicious fire in Mark which destroyed a 4X4 vehicle on Sunday morning (September 30th).

The town's fire brigade station rushed to Littlemoor Road at 10.51am after a passer-by reported a vehicle smoldering on the road verge.

"On arrival, the fire crew confirmed this to be a 4x4 vehicle fire which was out on arrival. The fire had spread to a nearby fence post which was extinguished using one hose reel jet," a fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

He added that the vehicle was completely destroyed by fire and that details had been passed to police as this was believed to be deliberate ignition.

Police have asked anyone with information about the blaze to get in contact via Crimetoppers on 0800 555 111.
