Burnham
police encourage youngsters to have a safe Halloween
Police
in Burnham-On-Sea are working with children in the town to ensure
they don't have any frights this Halloween.
PC
Tracey Stiles and PCSO Pauline Dixon visited Burnham-On-Sea Library
in Princess Street to speak to youngsters during their half-term
break.
The
day involved telling a Halloween story promoting responsible trick
or treating as well as making seasonal masks which will be seen
around the town tonight, Wednesday (October 31st).
PC
Stiles said: "In the partnership with the staff at the Burnham
Library, the event was a great success and well attended."
"It
was a fantastic opportunity for children to learn about road safety
in a fun environment and how trick or treating can be fun, but
not frighten and scare more vulnerable members of our community."
"We
are grateful to the staff at the library for allowing us to contribute
and help promote the links within the community, and to raise
awareness of concerns around Halloween."
As
part of Operation Relentless at Halloween, police are asking parents
to be aware of where their children are and what they are doing
this evening.
