Burnham
carnival club launches £3,000 fundraising drive for new
tractor
A
Burnham-On-Sea carnival club has begun a £3,000 fundraising
campaign to raise enough cash to buy a new tractor to tow its
float.
Members
of Hillview Carnival Club were at Somerfield supermarket in Burnham
over the weekend to enourage shoppers to give donations towards
the cost of buying a new tractor to pull its float at this year's
November carnival.
"We
raised £550 during Saturday's collection and have £2,000
so far but still need more if we are to take this year's float
around the carnival circuit," a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The
club's next fundraising event will be a dog show in Burnham's
Manor Gardens this Sunday, July 29th, starting at 2pm.
