New
owners of Burnham-On-Sea lighthouse keeper's cottage are local
Burnham-On-Sea's
historic lighthouse keeper's cottage has been sold to a local
family.
An
'Under Offer' notice went up outside the Grade II Listed property
in Berrow Road this week.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
reported last month how the 19th century cottage had been put
up for sale for the first time since 1946.
The
sale did not include the tower structure, but included the main
building alongside it and the extensive gardens.
It
was built in the 1830s and the lighthouse itself was de-commissioned
by Trinity House in 1993.
A
spokeswoman for estate agents Hutchinson Town and Country told
Burnham-On-sea.com: "I can confirm that a sale is going through
and that the new owners are local, which is nice."
She
declined to confirm the selling price of the property, but added
that it "is close to the asking price", which was £375,000.
