Police appeal for witnesses
after fatal accident on M5 at Burnham
Police
are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision
on the M5 between Weston and Burnham during the early hours of
Monday (May 21st).
A
Fiat Punto travelling southbound between junctions 21 and 22 left
the carriageway at around 12.30am and went down an embankment
before catching fire.
A
police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The driver of
the car, a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and was
pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other occupants."
Police
partly closed the motorway to allow for officers from the collision
investigation unit to examine the scene. It was reopened at 5.25am.
Police
want to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision. Anyone who
