02 mobile phone users in Burnham-On-Sea struck by power cut

Thousands of O2 mobile phone users across Burnham were unable to make calls due to a technical fault on Boxing Day (December 26th).

Reception was blacked out throughout the Burnham area for over four hours due to a power outage.

The problem first came to light when local O2 users complained about the matter in Burnham's discussion forums.

O2 spokesperson Sarah Taylor told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Thursday: "A number of our cell sites in the Bristol area were affected from 7pm as the result of a power failure. Service was restored at around 11pm."

"We very much regret any inconvenience this may have caused to O2 customers."
