Staff sickness closes Burnham-On-Sea swimming pool

Burnham-On-Sea's swimming pool was closed to the public on Monday morning (November 26th) after an outbreak of sickness among its staff resulted in the facility being partially closed.

Burnham's swimming pool Swimmers were turned away from the pool in Berrow Road (pictured) due to a lack of lifeguards.

The pool’s manager, Paul Yates, told Burnham-On-Sea.com the pool had encountered "problems" but added that the pool would re-open to the public as normal at 12 noon on Monday.

"We have had problems with staff sickness this morning, which meant there was no safety cover for the pool," he said.

The pool was also shut for several days in October due to the same problem - illness causing a shortage of staff.
